Team Uganda returns from South Africa with 120 medals

Team Uganda set another record with 120 medals in various disciplines at the just ended All Africa Students Convention – AASC  October, 2017 at Eunice High School in Bloemfontein, South Africa. With this impressive performance, a team of 26 students will proceed to compete at the International Students Convention ISC which will bring students from all five continents to compete on the same stage. The International Students Convention will take place in May 2018 at the Ball State University Muncie Indiana, USA.

Worth noting is, some parents out there are being intentional about their children’s upbringing and exposure. Our children’s world is global, they will not be competing for jobs only in Uganda. No! They will have access to jobs anywhere in the world. But what will set them apart? That is a question every parent that dreams and aspires for their child needs to ponder on.

During the competitions, one of the proud parents made a note saying, “We are raising up a peculiar people, a chosen generation, and a royal priesthood, who will not fail to do things different. They have the seed of Abraham in them.”

In May 2017, the National Convention was held at Vine International School in Kungu – Uganda, where students from various Accelerated Christian Education Curriculum Schools took part in the varied disciplines. Autumn Studios’ Founder Jacqlynne Tumusiime and Lydia Mijumbi, dance Instructor were honoured to be judges on the panel in the dance category.

Children ages 13 and above, studying the ACE curriculum are welcome participate in this event. Mrs. Joyce Owor the Convention Coordinator, along with her team of experienced and passionate trainers work tirelessly all year to make these events a success.

At Autumn Studios, we believe every child deserves an opportunity to experience art to its fullness. Needless to say, the Convention goes far beyond the confines of art into science. It is from these experiences that children and youth form perceptions of their worlds, dream and aspire to be set apart world changers in their times.

Congratulations Team Uganda AASC 2017, you made us all Ugandans proud. Special thanks goes to the organisers, sponsors, partners of All Africa Students Convention, National Convention Uganda and the parents who put in tireless efforts to make sure the children are well equipped and ever present for rehearsals. You dedication and commitment has and continues to pay off.
