We celebrated our 5th anniversary here at Autumn Studios!

kids

It was on this day in 2013 that we started our first Studio class with only two children. We have so far reached more than 1000 children in school outreach programs, like the annual dance bazaars and school clubs and over 80 students at Autumn Studios. Autumn has had the privilege to work with children in both international and local schools in Uganda and Cape Town.

What has kept us open for the last 5 years has been our love for dance art, art and the possibility of sharing it with youngsters. We dream of a day Autumn Studios will raise more teachers with a passion deeper than ours for creative arts education to reach more children. We dream of a day every child in Uganda will have opportunities to experience and express themselves beyond the words.

We would like to thank all the parents and guardians who have committed to our programs over the last 5 years. We know your children’s lives have been and continue to be impacted.

We honour the vision bearers and instructors of Kampala Dance Studio, where I was first mentored for more than 10 years, International Dance Instructors; Kristina Johnstone, Professor Jill Prible who have generously poured into my life over the years, Clay Dance Company a peculiar people I have known and danced with for years, who love to minister in Dance, Living Dance International who offer teacher training and curriculum support, the International Christian Dance Fellowship, our partners Kampala Music School, Kanzucode, our committed staff members at Autumn Studios and our lovely board team of mentors, and advisors Ms. Dorothy Tuma, Mr. Edwin Muhumuza, Mr. Duncan Roy Kawooya, Ms. Audrey Dralega, my family, and my teacher of the Word, Apostle Grace Lubega who have generously given of their time and wisdom and finances to us over these last 5 years.

Our achievements: The impacting partnerships and networks we have formed with parents, national and international art organisations, reaching over 1000 students with wholesome dance art while making learning fun.

Our Journey has just started! For the next 5 years, we will focus on improving the infrastructure in dance at Autumn Studios whilst continuing to work on improving the quality of training for teachers to help us reach more children and youth in Uganda. Your support, be it financial, time or advice is more than welcome as we journey on.

Let’s celebrate the Big 5 together! Let’s dance!

Thank you.

Blessings,
